Martial Arts Training

I’ve trained Law Enforcement and Corrections Officers, Active Duty Military, Combat Sports Athletes, and even kids as young as age five. I’m not currently offering training to the public as I’m focused on broadening my own knowledge and skill set, but I can recommend some great teachers if you contact me.

Background

Mike has trained privately with Jeremy Lynch in the art of Jeet Kune Do since 2003. In 2005, Sifu Lynch brought him to Tim Tackett’s “JKD Wednesday Night Group” where he met Bruce Lee students Bob Bremer and Jim Sewell and observed Sifu Tackett’s renowned teaching methods firsthand.

Mike credits Jeremy Lynch as the primary motivator of his success in the martial arts and Tim Tackett and Bob Bremer with providing a greater understanding of the principles of Jeet Kune Do and the JKD mindset. He holds the rank of Full Instructor under Tim Tackett, Bob Bremer, and Jim Sewell.

Testimonials

Tim Tackett Teacher and Author

“It is not often that the Wednesday Night Group makes an instructor, and it is even rarer that we have someone open a branch school. Mike Blesch is one of our students that we thought so much of that we not only made him an instructor but told him to open a satellite school. Mike has trained at both my and Jeremy Lynch’s houses. He is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. He has assisted me on seminars and helped me teach in my garage class. If you are interested in Jeet Kune Do then Mike is a great choice for an instructor.”

Jeremy Lynch Senior JKD Instructor

“Mike Blesch has been trained by me personally and has worked with the Wednesday Night Group. His training goes back 19 years. He has shown great capacity for taking what he learns and applying it in real world situations and training. His constant hunger to learn and grow is especially impressive. It has been an honor to be his Sifu.”

Dan McHugh Retired City Attorney

“As a ‘senior’ martial artist who went through full hip surgery, I was helped quite a bit by Mike Blesch getting me back on course with improving range of motion with basics. Apart from that, I enjoyed Mike’s low key style and very practical combatives defense training. With my JKD and Shotokan background I just wish we had met and trained together when I was younger!”
